VERNON – The woman apparently thought she’d hit the jackpot at the bank machine but seemingly didn’t know her actions were being captured on camera.
Now she’s been charged with theft.
Surveillance video taken in October at the main branch of the Bank of Montreal in Vernon shows a woman withdrawing money from an account that isn’t hers.
She used the ATM after the previous customer forgot his card, leaving the account open.
The woman is seen withdrawing cash and putting it in her vehicle at least three times before driving away.
RCMP say they started getting tips from the public within an hour of releasing the suspect’s images to the media in January.
Glenda Joan Daku has been charged with one count of theft under $5000.
She returns to court April 30th.
