CALGARY – The president of a southern Alberta constituency where a potential Tory candidate was disqualified has resigned.
John Fitzsimmons won’t say if his decision had anything to do with Jamie Lall being removed as Progressive Conservative candidate for Chestermere-Rockyview.
Fitzsimmons does say he had nothing to do with Lall being pulled as a Tory nomination candidate.
Lall was disallowed last month just days before a nomination vote was to take place.
Bruce McAllister, a former Wildrose MLA who crossed the floor to the PCs, ended up being acclaimed.
Two other members of the riding association board have also resigned.
