SASKATOON – Saskatoon is the host city to the second annual Canadian Global Crops Symposium this week. The event covers a wide range of topics in the agriculture sector, ranging from GMO’s to investments in the Canadian crop sector.

Well-known speakers such as Dr. Brian Lee Crowley and author of “Food for Africa”, Dr. Jennifer Thomson, are in town to host talks at the Sheraton Cavalier Hotel.

“We’re talking about what we think the future looks like for agriculture and for this sector here,” said Curt Vossen, president of Richardson International, and a speaker at the symposium.

“It’s a big part of the Saskatchewan economy, and it will continue to be a big part of your economy. Agriculture is a renewable resource, it’s significant to your economic welfare and creates a lot of jobs, as well as a lot of foreign exchange for this country.”
