MARTENSVILLE, Sask. – A man remains in critical condition and another man has been charged after an assault in Martensville, Sask. over the weekend. The assault happened in the parking lot of the Adobe Inn early Saturday morning.
Mounties found a man bleeding from his head. He was rushed to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon where he underwent emergency surgery for head injuries.

Police reviewed video from both inside and outside the bar and spoke to a number of witnesses, who said there was an altercation between the two men outside the bar. It resulted in a brief physical confrontation and then police say the assault happened when the victim was pushed or thrown to the ground, causing the trauma to the victim’s head.
Investigators made contact with a man identified as the suspect. He turned himself into Martensville RCMP on Wednesday.
Morgan Kendal Upton, 20, was charged with aggravated assault. He was released from custody on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on May 19.
The victim, a 44-year-old man, remains in intensive care at RUH. Police say his prognosis is unclear at this time.
