Man airlifted to Calgary hospital after shooting in Stettler

EDMONTON — RCMP in central Alberta are investigating a shooting in Stettler that sent a man in his 20s to hospital.

Police responded to a 911 call for alleged assault at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. While officers began searching for possible suspects a second call was received from the Stettler Hospital, where a man showed up with gunshot wounds. The 29-year-old Red Deer man was airlifted by STARS to the Foothills Hospital in Calgary with non life-threatening injuries.

A 27-year-old man, a 22-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman from the Stettler home police first responded to were arrested. RCMP said the victim and suspects were known to police, and the shooting wasn’t random. Charges are pending.
