TORONTO – A serious crash in Scarborough overnight has sent one man to hospital.
The collision happened around 3 a.m. when the car smashed into a hydro pole on Canadian Rd. in the city’s east-end and burst into flames.

The male diver was treated for minor injuries.
Power has been knocked out to more than 1,000 homes in the area.
Canadian Rd. is currently closed between Warden Ave. and Principal Rd.
Toronto Hydro says power should be fully restored in the area by 9:30 a.m.
