“This is love it’s clear to see, I wish you joy and happiness for eternity,” sang Melbourne musician Daniel Buccheri.
As part of his best man duties for his brother Adrian, Buccheri prepared a speech to deliver on the day of the wedding.
He admits that he left the speechwriting to the last minute, but heard the musical potential when he recorded the speech to listen back to it.
“I didn’t expect it to go viral,” Buccheri told Mashable. “It was just something that came out and fell together like it did. It just had all the right elements.”
In the end, the elements included Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me,” R. Kelly’s “Ignition,” and “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” by Elton John.
When he first posted the video on his Facebook page Friday, he hoped it would go viral, but not to this extent. The full video now has over a million views on Facebook and YouTube combined.
The sometimes funny and mostly emotional lyrics left the room in tears, and Adrian and his bride Sarah can be seen barely holding themselves together as the song reaches its peak.
Buccheri said that as he embraced his brother and sister-in-law after his performance, they didn’t exchange many words. But he does know one thing.
“They loved it.”
