EDMONTON — A young man was taken to hospital in critical condition Thursday night after a single-vehicle collision in northeast Edmonton.
Staff Sgt. Keith Johnson with the Edmonton Police Service says a truck was heading east on Anthony Henday Drive when it lost control near Manning Drive and hit a large sign. It happened around 10:45 p.m.
The driver of the truck, believed to be about 20 years old, was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in critical condition.
The cause of the collision is not known at this time.
“We do have a couple of very good witnesses who did see what occurred so we’ll be interviewing them,” Johnson said late Thursday night.
The driver of the truck was the only person inside the vehicle at the time.
Anthony Henday Drive was shut down to traffic for several hours Thursday night.
