MONTREAL – Travellers to and from the South Shore are being advised to avoid the Mercier Bridge over the Easter long weekend.
Construction started at 10 p.m. Thursday night to mend part of the bridge.
One southbound lane will re-open at 2 a.m. on Saturday, with lanes headed towards the city remaining closed.

There will be one lane heading in each direction starting Sunday morning.
The bridge will be re-opened to full capacity at 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.
