VANCOUVER – The BC Coroners Service has released the identity of a woman who died in an accident near Christina Lake on March 26.
Amanda Louise Koppin, 33, was driving in a SUV on Highway 3 near East Lake Drive at about 3 p.m. when a large, dead tree struck the roof of the vehicle.
The tree had tumbled about 28 metres down a cliff above the highway.
Koppin was pronounced dead at the scene. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help her family during this time. To donate, go to the GoFundMe site.
The Coroners Service is continuing to investigate her death. No logging or tree-clearing operations were taking place in the area from which the tree fell.
