WATCH: Snow season over for at least one North Shore mountain

WATCH: Elaine Yong reports on the ski season that wasn’t on the North Shore mountains.

A warm winter on British Columbia’s South Coast has caused at least one North Shore mountain to declare its ski season officially over.

Mount Seymour announced it was closing for the season on Tuesday.

Cypress remains on standby, but officials say there would have to be a significant amount of snowfall to re-open.

There’s a bit more optimism at Grouse Mountain, where 14 centimeters of fresh snow fell on Monday night. That mountain is partially open for the time being.
