WATCH: A huge turnout tonight at a public hearing in Maple Ridge where residents are angry about plans for a medical marijuana grow-op. Catherine Urquhart reports.
Anger and frustration is growing in Maple Ridge over plans for a massive medical marijuana facility.
People were not mincing words at a public hearing staged last night.
They say the facility, a 40,000 square foot greenhouse currently under construction, will create security problems.
Residents are also worried it will be too much of a burden for the local well water system.
If the project gets Health Canada approval, the greenhouse would be one of the largest medical marijuana grow-ops in North America.
A timeline has not been established for licensing approval yet.
WATCH: Dan Sutton, Managing Director of Tantalus Labs, the company building the grow-op joined Global News with more.
