HALIFAX – Halifax police say no criminal offense occurred during an incident in Bedford where a witness reported a possible abduction on Monday afternoon.

Officers responded just after 1 p.m. to Stockton Ridge in Bedford after a witness reported seeing a young woman screaming and running away from a car at the end of the cul-de-sac. The witness said a man was chasing the woman and eventually grabbed her and forced her back into the vehicle. The woman reportedly attempted to flee the vehicle, but was stopped by the man, who forced her back inside and drove away.

Police say they have spoken to all parties involved, and closed the investigation.
