Officers were called to the woman’s home, in the 5300 block of 26 Avenue SW, around 3:30 a.m. Police say the woman was sleeping when she woke up to a man on top of her. There was a struggle and the woman was sexually assaulted, police said Saturday afternoon.

The man left the woman’s home after the assault.

Police believe the suspect entered the woman’s home through an unlocked door.

“At this point, we’re just trying to build up a timeline and figure out what the interaction between these two individuals was and potentially what the conflict was, and just try to piece together what happened,” Cst. Jason Curtis from RCMP said.
