ARMSTRONG – The Armstrong-Spallumcheen Fire Department made quick work of a fire in an industrial clothes dryer at The Armstrong Inn early Friday morning.
“There was a fair bit of smoke in the building. We vented it out. [There was] very minor damage overall,” says fire chief Ian Cummings.
Cummings says people in three suites had to be evacuated from the building and were put up in alternate accommodations by Emergency Social Services for the remainder of the night.
The hotel expects to be open again for guests Friday night.
