Monday March 23rd  on The Morning News:  

With opening day in Major League Baseball just around the corner, what a time for some former Toronto Blue Jays to come to town! This weekend Halifax and Bridgewater will each host a unique event called “World Series Revisited” honouring the first team north of the border to win a World Series! The fundraiser is being held to raise money for the Canada/Cuba Goodwill Tour that sends Canadian Youth Baseball teams from the Maritimes to Cuba to play against teams in Cuba. At 6:45am we’ll learn more from coordinator Dennis Woodworth and find out which legendary Jays are coming our way.

At 7:15am we get some tax tips ahead of the April 30th deadline! Ashley Clarke of Canada Revenue Agency’s Regional Outreach program will join us to talk about some key things to remember this season including filing online and benefits and credits for families.

And keeping with the money theme, at 7:45am we’ll tell you about a new program being offered in Nova Scotia that aims to help kids make smarter financial decisions. Called “Talking with Kids about Money”, it hopes to encourage parents and teachers to have “the talk” with youth – a discussion on understanding money matters.

If you need spring NOW – tune in at 8:15am for a preview of the art show Light and Land at the Dart Gallery in downtown Dartmouth.  We’re joined by artist Kelli Janson, chef Allan McPherson of Picnic and Jane MacDougald of Dart.  The trio collaborated on this feast of spring sights and tastes.
