Evacuations ordered after gas leak in southwest Calgary

CALGARY – A gas leak prompted evacuations in the southwest community of Cliff Bungalow on Sunday.

Crews were called to the 300 block of 18 Ave. southwest at around 9:20 a.m.

Construction crews working in the alleyway behind the building ruptured a three-centimetre gas line.

ATCO was called and officials blocked off the area for about two hours.

Approximately 30 people were evacuated.
