WINNIPEG — Team Canada’s defense will have a definite Manitoba flavour at the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship. No less than four Manitobans have been selected for the team including three of the seven slots on defense. St. Anne’s Jocelyne Larocque, Mallard’s Brigette Lacquette and Neepawa’s Halli Krzyzaniak will all patrol Canada’s blueline. Forward Bailey Bram of St. Anne has also been named to the team.

12 of the 23 players chosen played on Canada’s 2013 silver medal winning team including both Bram and Larocque.  Krzyzaniak and Lacquette will both be making their World Championship debut. No top level tournament was played in 2014 because of the Olympics.

This years event is being hosted in Malmo, Sweden.  Canada’s first game is on March the 28th against the United States.
