There were some white knuckle moments aboard a small plane in Abbotsford late Tuesday afternoon.

The pilot of this 70-year old aircraft notified the control tower that the landing gear wasn’t coming down.

After circling for 30 minutes, the pilot decided to glide down onto a grass area beside the runway.

The plane came to a smooth stop on its belly.

Emergency crews attended as a precaution, but neither the pilot nor the passenger was hurt in the incident.
