Chelsea Carey splits with team

WINNIPEG — After just one season together Chelsea Carey is parting ways with the Alberta based team made of 3rd Laura Crocker, 2nd Taylor McDonald and lead Jen Gates.

Carey made the announcement Tuesday on the teams official Facebook page.

The split is effective immediately and Carey is still in the process of putting a team together for next season and when asked through direct messaging if she’ll be returning to curl out of Manitoba next season, she offered up this response.

“No plans yet, still working through that part of it.” said Carey.

Carey’s foursome lost to Val Sweeting in the Alberta Scotties provincial final.  They won two events on the World Curling Tour this season but missed the playoffs in four of the eight WCT events they competed in.
