Police release photo of Kelowna armed robbery suspect

Kelowna Armed Robber.

KELOWNA – There haven’t been many armed robberies lately in Kelowna but there was one Monday.

Just before 2:00 a.m., a teenager wearing a mask and brandishing a knife demand cigarettes from the clerk at a 7-11 convenience store on Bernard Avenue.

A customer confronted the robber and the two struggled with the customer being cut on his hand.

The injury wasn’t serious but it could have been.

That’s why police police recommend witnesses don’t involve themselves in such situations.

“Certainly if he has a weapon don’t intervene,” says Cst. Kris Clark. “Try to get a description of the suspect and what he’s driving aned license plate if possible. But to physically intervene, you put yourself at risk and we certainly don’t recommend that.”
