Drivers travelling between Coquitlam and Surrey may notice some changes this weekend.

Starting Saturday, drivers heading west on Hwy. 1 from Surrey to get to Coquitlam will have to commit to using Exit 44 before the Port Mann Bridge.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Getting off at the 152 St. Interchange will allow them to use dedicated lanes on the bridge.

However, that means once they use the exit, they will be separated from highway traffic and unable to get back to Hwy. 1.

Drivers are asked to keep an eye out for new signs to make sure they use the correct lane.
