SASKATOON – Four people from Alberta are facing charges after leading Saskatoon police on a chase in a stolen truck. It started early Thursday morning when patrol officers attempted to stop the truck at Avenue F North and 30th Street West around 1:30 a.m. when they spotted the driver speeding.
The driver refused to stop and police called off the chase due to high speeds.
Officers attempted to place stop sticks at Idylwyld Drive and Marquis Drive, but were unable to do it in time to stop the truck. The truck, stolen from Drayton Valley, Alta., was last seen heading out of the city northbound on Idylwyld.
Just before 3 a.m., Mounties notified Saskatoon police the truck had been located abandoned near Cathedral Bluffs.
A Saskatoon canine unit was brought in to help locate the suspects. Two were tracked down by the canine unit and a third was located by a patrol unit.
The fourth person had crossed the river and was found hiding in a garage in the Cathedral Bluffs area.

All are from Drayton Valley. Their names have not been released.
Two men, 35 and 39, and two women, 24 and 37, are facing charges of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. The 37-year-old woman is also facing charges of possession of meth and marijuana.
