Bassist Dan Beattie leaves Eleven Past One

TORONTO — Canadian pop band Eleven Past One is down one member.

The group, best known for the 2013 single “The World Is Ours,” announced Thursday bassist Dan Beattie has left.

“He chose a different path in life and we wish him all the best,” Eleven Past One tweeted. “There was no fight and no hard feelings.”

A tweet described the departure as “surprising and sad.”

A tweet attributed to Beattie read: “Even though I’m leaving I wish the band all the luck and will always consider it family.”

The group from Bowmanville, Ont. is scheduled to play March 26 in Sudbury, Ont., March 28 in Montreal and March 29 in Oshawa, Ont.

Eleven Past One assured fans all shows will go on as scheduled with Bodan Mulholland on bass.

The remaining members of the band are Daniel Richter, Stephen Richter, Steve Patenaude and Kyle Bykiv.

Eleven Past One songs include “I’m Ready” and “Tonight’s the Night.” The group recently recorded a cover version of the Spandau Ballet classic “True.”
