HAMPSTEAD, N.B. – RCMP say they peacefully resolved a standoff Thursday in southern New Brunswick.
Police say a 47-year-old man had earlier barricaded himself inside a home on Highway 102 in Hampstead, north of Saint John.
There was no word on whether the local resident was armed.

The Mounties say they were called to the scene shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Negotiators were called in and road blocks were set up.
The man was taken into custoday without incident Thursday shortly after 6 p.m.
