WATCH ABOVE: A potential threat forced the closure of Mic Mac Mall Tuesday. Police are remaining tightlipped about what information they have. Rebecca Lau reports.

HALIFAX – Police have released two men and a woman who were arrested in Halifax on Tuesday afternoon after threats were allegedly made involving Mic Mac Mall.

They were questioned and released from custody Tuesday evening without charges.

The Dartmouth mall was closed Tuesday morning after police showed up to investigate a possible threat they had received information about at 9 a.m. Police said the alleged threats were not made directly against the mall.

After police informed mall officials, shoppers were asked to leave and the mall was closed for the rest of the day. Police went to a home on Everette Street in Dartmouth early in the afternoon, but left a few hours later after they found it was empty.

Just before 4 p.m., Halifax Regional Police took two men and a woman into custody at an apartment building in the 200-block of Willett Street in connection with the investigation.

Police said a search warrant would be executed at that location.

At 9:30 p.m., police said they had released the three people, who they described as cooperative with police.

Investigators do not believe at this time they were involved in the matter, so no charges were laid. Police add there is no information to suggest any continued threat to Mic Mac Mall.

The investigation is ongoing, as police try to determine the source of the threats and its legitimacy.
