Public meetings begin today for Toronto’s Downtown Relief Line

TORONTO – The public will have the opportunity to learn more about Toronto’s new subway relief line with meetings scheduled for the next two weeks.

City officials and the Toronto Transit Commission are specifically looking for feedback on potential stations areas and evaluation criteria.

Work is currently being done to study options for the new rapid transit line that would connect downtown Toronto to the Bloor-Danforth Subway east of the Don River.

It is estimated the Yonge Subway line will be overcapacity by 2031 with population and demand up more than 80 per cent.
