VERNON — Vernon RCMP are reaching out to the public in an effort to recover a stolen gun.
The gun was one of two taken during a home invasion on December 23.
The incident happened at the Strand Lakeside Resort condos in Vernon when several male suspects forced their way into the residence and restrained the occupant.

“The suspects got the owner to open his safe. Two handguns were reported stolen,” says Vernon RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk.
“One of the firearms has since been recovered on a previous file in our office back on Dec 25th. The hand gun that was recovered as a .357. There is a Glock 9mm handgun still missing.”
Molendyk says the crime is only being reported now because the owner feared reprisal from the suspects.
