HALIFAX- The preliminary results of a financial audit of the Council on African Canadian Education have been handed over to Halifax Regional Police by The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.

The audit was requested by the Department in response to a recommendation from a financial review in 2013, which followed an audit of CACE in 2010.

In a statement, the Department says they will determine next steps, once the full audit is complete in late March.

“I value the work of the CACE board and will continue to work with them in their important advisory role to improve educational outcomes for African Nova Scotian learners,” said Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Karen Casey. “CACE will continue to be funded to carry out this important work.”
