EDMONTON – Two men face a long list of charges, including aggravated assault, following a stabbing and several robberies in downtown Edmonton.
Nicollas McLeod, 20, and Benjamin Crawford, 21, are accused of attacking a 45-year-old man with edged weapons in a food court bathroom at Scotia Place, located at 100 Street and Jasper Avenue.
The brazen mid-day attack happened at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9. The victim was sent to hospital in serious, but stable condition with stab wounds.

After arresting McLeod and Crawford, Edmonton police conducted an investigation that led them to believe that McLeod and six other people were involved in three personal robberies that occurred earlier on Monday and also on the previous day at a downtown bank.
It’s alleged that on two occasions on Sunday, Feb. 8, a male, armed with a weapon, approached people withdrawing cash from an ATM machine at the bank on 101 Street and Jasper Avenue. A similar incident allegedly happened at the same bank the following day.
McLeod is facing numerous charges including: four counts of robbery, aggravated assault possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, and possession of a concealed weapon.
Crawford’s charges include: robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon dangerous to the pubic, and possession of a concealed weapon.
Six other people have been charged in connection with the robberies, including two young offenders. Police believe some of these individuals loitered in the food court during the Feb. 9 stabbing in the bathroom.
