Sonya Rice is a Halifax graduate student who fell in love with the music of China.  At 7:15am we chat with Sonya, then she and her partner Jason Szeto will treat is to a preview of their upcominmg performance at the Chinese New Year Gala at Saint Mary’s University this weekend.

At 7:45am we get a special live performance from singer-songwriter Tim Chaisson The musician from good ol Prince Edward Island is in town promoting his new album “Lost in Light” and he’s opening for the legendary rocker Colin James Friday night at Casino Nova Scotia.

At 8:15am we’ll tee up a new project from Food Network Canada that is being touted as a “Groundbreaking culinary journey.” Shaw Media recently announced celebrity chef Lynn Crawford and Noah Cappe, host of the hit show “Carnival Eats’, will be the faces of a new multi-platform food endeavor called Canada’s Great Canadian Cookbook. Filming of the show started this week here in Halifax and Noah Cappe will stop by the red table to tell us more about this colossal multi-phase project.

And we wrap up the week at 8:45am with one of our faves as Stephanie Beaumont stops by to take a look at the east coast entertainment scene. The host of Sea & Be Scene will give us the dish on  the latest project for up and coming actor Mark O’Brien.
