TORONTO – Take a deep breath and repeat: Spring is almost here. Spring is almost here.
There is going to be a shift in weather patterns that might actually make you believe the above.

As of Friday these frigid daytime temperatures will be a thing of the past.
That’s not to say that we won’t have some chilly overnight lows, but the days of walking out into a cold that freezes your breath will be left behind.
Friday and Saturday nights will be chilly with temperatures around -15 C. But the highs will be closer to a balmy -5C.
And it just gets better.
The temperature next week will begin climbing to — wait for it — 0 C. Patio weather! Okay, not quite.
That’s not to say that the mercury won’t dip again, because it will, but it won’t be the bone-chilling cold that has descended upon us this month.
The thing is, the temperature will still be below normal. Our highs at this time of year should be around 2 C and lows around -6 C. But after breaking record lows several times this month and having 23 extreme cold weather alerts issued by the city, below-normal temperatures of -2C will be welcomed.
Of course, warmer temperatures also mean we may see more snow. But hey, you can’t have everything, right?
