LETHBRIDGE – Police are investigating two armed robberies that occurred within an hour of each other on Monday night.
In the first incident, police say a masked man entered a Gas Plus in the 100 block of Jerry Potts Boulevard around 9:45 p.m.
The suspect demanded cash while threatening the store employees with a gun. A brief struggle ensued, before the suspect ran from the store. Police say he wasn’t able to make off with any cash or property and no one was injured.
Shortly after, police say a masked man entered Neighbours in the 500 block of 6 Avenue South. He threatened a female employee with a gun while demanding cash, before making off with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured.
In both cases the subject is described as a male in his late teens to 20s, wearing a black balaclava, black jacket, black carhartt pants, black and tan gloves and tan-coloured foot wear.
