TORONTO – A Toronto man is facing charges in a hit-and-run that claimed the life of a 58-year-old woman earlier this week.
Police say the woman died after being struck early Wednesday in the city’s downtown.

They say Tomas Velazco Pinedo, 31, is charged with impaired driving causing death, criminal negligence causing death, and dangerous driving causing death.
Pinedo is also charged with failing to stop causing death and attempting to obstruct justice.
He is due in court Saturday morning.
