Man charged with second-degree murder after stabbing in Abbotsford

A 35-year-old man was stabbed to death last Thursday night in Abbotsford.

Abbotsford police said Trevor Johnson had been critically injured and someone dropped him off at the Abbotsford Hospital at about 10 p.m. on Thursday.

Just after midnight, Johnson died of his injuries and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took over the case.

Investigators spent hours collecting evidence from a gas station at Townline and MacClure Road as well as the hospital parking lot.

20-year-old Thavone Junior Carlson of Abbotsford has now been charged with second-degree murder. He is set to appear in court on Monday, Feb. 23 in Abbotsford.
