FREDERICTON- Fredericton police arrested 38-year-old Rene Michael Gerard Tuesday afternoon in Nackawic. Gerard was wanted on an outstanding warrant related to an incident that occurred on Wednesday, February 11, 2015.
Police were conducting surveillance in a residential area in Nackawic where Gerard was believed to be hiding. Shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday the suspect attempted to flee a residence, and following a brief foot pursuit, officers were able to apprehend him without incident.
Gerard, was wanted on a number of charges. He faces charges of forcible confinement, sexual assault, assault, uttering threats, breach of probation, and breach of an undertaking.
