SASKATOON – Saskatchewan RCMP are warning drivers to be cautious heading out on Valentine’s Day after a multiple collisions. Mounties are at the scene of a crash in the westbound lane of Highway 16, around three kilometers southeast of Denholm, Sask.

Preliminary information showed ten vehicles were involved.

The incident began initially with a crash involving three vehicles. Once officers arrived, there was a second series of collisions involving six other vehicles, which resulted in damages to a police vehicle.

Diminished visibility hampered motorists’ ability to see police vehicles with emergency lights activated, according to RCMP.

Police say they are thankful there were only minor injuries at this event.

Battlefords RCMP have reopened the westbound lanes on Highway 16 and will remain on scene to slow traffic as towing companies remove all vehicles involved in the crash.
