NIPAWIN, Sask. – Mounties collared more than their man during an arrest Wednesday. Police had gone to a residence near Nipawin, Sask. to arrest Marcel Beuker on an outstanding warrant.

Beuker was wanted for breaching release conditions following a child pornography possession charge in April 2013. When officers were at the residence, they spotted something that prompted them to get search warrants.

The warrants were executed the following day. Police seized 77 marijuana plants, a large quantity of harvested marijuana, hash oil and marijuana seeds. Numerous computers and storage devices were also seized.

Beuker, 25, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and production of marijuana, along with six counts of breach of an undertaking. He appeared in Melfort provincial court on Thursday and is being held in custody until his next court appearance on Feb. 17 in Saskatoon provincial court.
