VANCOUVER – Langley RCMP officers are crediting an iPhone app for helping them investigate a break-and-enter.
Thieves broke into a home and took a computer containing a number of precious family photos.
“It had the first year of my daughter’s life on it,” said owner Lacey Forward. “From her birth and all those moments that you can’t get back.”
Fortunately the owner had downloaded an app called ‘Find my iPhone’ on to her computer.
When the computer was turned on, she was able to find exactly where it ended up.
The woman contacted police who recovered the iMac a few blocks away.
Two men in their late thirties have been arrested and officers will be recommending charges.
“So many things went right in this case where, first of all, they came out of the residence carrying the computer, which was quite lovely for us,” said Cpl. Holly Marks with the Langley RCMP.
