WATCH: Videos of robbery posted by suspects help police track them down

Three people suspected of assault and robbery were arrested this week after police in Fresno County, California found video evidence of the crimes on social media.

The videos were shot and posted on Facebook by the suspects themselves, perhaps to brag.

The cell phone footage allegedly show 18-year-old Leanna Risueno and a 14-year-old girl attacking two teenaged victims walking home from school on Jan. 22.

Detectives say 24-year-old Steven Vang was behind the camera.

“What they said to our detectives is they were just looking to jack some people, come up on some cash to take care of their habits,” Tony Botti from the Fresno County Sherriff’s Office told KGET.

Police say the suspects did not know the victims and were just looking for easy targets.

The two victims walked away with minor scrapes, although the suspects got away with one of the victims’ purse.

Vang and Risueno have been charged with felony robbery while the 14-year-old suspect is being processed through the juvenile justice system.
