KELOWNA – It affects every community and culture, suicide. Now a group called Global Citizen Kelowna is hoping an upcoming concert will open up the discussion about the serious topic.
Global Music Fest will feature Canadian performers Broken Walls.
While suicide has no cultural boundaries, the concert is geared towards raising awareness about suicide among aboriginal youth, which is often higher than it is in other populations.
Based on Native American/First Nations Heritage of North America, Broken Walls is a band that travels extensively around the world communicating a message of restoring dignity and self respect.
The concert takes place on Tuesday, February 10 at the Evangel Church at 3261 Gordon Drive in Kelowna. Doors open at 6:30. Admission is by donation.
