WATCH: Longueuil police questioned over rape investigation
LONGUEUIL, Que. — Three-and-a-half months have passed and still, the murder of Jenique Dalcourt remains unsolved.
The 23-year-old was attacked and beaten to death on a bike path in Old Longueuil last October.
In recent weeks, Dalcourt’s father has openly criticized the police’s work.
Last December, John Gandolfo told Global News he was ready to hire his own private detectives.

On Wednesday, a 47-year-old Montreal woman is also speaking out about the force.
Carole Thomas says she was raped in the same area as where Dalcourt was murdered — 48 hours before the Oct. 22 killing. She claims her file has been neglected for an unknown reason.
“I do question their competency and ability to follow the case.”
“It is a huge criminal case, mine and Jenique’s,” Thomas noted.

Last Oct. 20, Thomas claims she was forced into the back seat of a Lexus and raped.
The incident took place on Parc Industriel Street in Longueuil — about two kilometres from the Dalcourt crime scene.
The alleged victim said she provided Longueuil police the required DNA evidence soon after the attack, but she claims it sat on a police officer’s desk and may have been forgotten.
“It was only sent to the Sûreté du Québec in January 2015,” Thomas said.
“Come on, that’s appalling!”
Longueuil police called Thomas’ claims “false.” They told Global News the investigation is proceeding normally.
“It was always an active case, a priority for us,” said Captain Nancy Colagiacomo from the Longueuil Police Department.
“At no time was it put aside or neglected from what I know.”
Colagiacomo added there is no connection between the Carole Thomas case and the Jenique Dalcourt murder file.
