TORONTO — Passengers on an upcoming Queen Mary 2 cruise will be able to take painting lessons from actress Jane Seymour.
The Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning star will conduct classes during a transatlantic crossing from New York to Southampton that begins June 3.
Seymour, 63, will also take part in a pair of Q&A sessions to talk about her career and will attend a book-signing event on the ship.
“I am honoured to be invited to join the many special guests and luminaries who have sailed with Cunard over the years,” Seymour said, in a release. “I fondly recall sailing on the QE2 and am looking forward to being onboard once again in this special 175th Anniversary year.”
In addition to her acting work — she is best known for the TV series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman — Seymour is also renowned for her watercolours and oil paintings. She also designed a jewelry collection for a U.S. retailer and has penned several books and a series of children’s books.
The Queen Mary 2, which accommodates up to 2,620 passengers, has hosted celebrity guests like John Cleese, Tilda Swinton, George Lucas and Uma Thurman since making its maiden voyage in January 2004.
Seymour is scheduled to appear on Global’s The Morning Show on Thursday.
