Wednesday Feb. 4th on The Morning News

At 6:45am in our “Healthy living” segment we’ll let you know more about an event aimed at raising awareness and funds for a worthwhile cause. The Bladder Cancer Canada Awareness Workout will be held this Sunday at Crossfit Kinetics in Burnside. We’ll meet members of a student-led society at Dal putting the event together.

At 7:45am we’ll talk with Nova Scotia’s Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage Tony Ince about some events planned here in the province to mark African Heritage Month.

If you’re a high school student and you’re thinking about your future, the Sunnyside Mall has an opportunity for you!  Will You Be My Volunteer?  challenges youth to give their time to a cause this month, with a chance to win money for school.  At 8:15am we chat with Halifax Grammar School student Mark Saldanha  and YWCA’s Keely Wallace about why they support the challenge.

Cape Breton has always been known for its rich music culture and that talent will be on display again on Wednesday! Sydney’s “Pretty Archie” is a Rock/Country/Bluegrass band in town this week to promote their latest record North End Sky. At 8:45am  we’ll get the lowdown on their big show at The Carleton and hear a tune from the new record. Global News
