Highway havoc near Revelstoke

REVELSTOKE — Two semis and a bus were some of the casualties on Highway 1 near Revelstoke as a result of slippery road conditions over the weekend.

RCMP say they attended seven accidents Sunday, including one involving two tractor trailers colliding head-on.

The collision happened about 40 kilometres west of Revelstoke.  One of the trucks lost control before striking another semi.

Both drivers escaped injury because they were going slow at the time.

Police say as a result of the semis crashing, a passenger bus which was attempting to stop hit another tractor trailer. Again, no one was injured.

The highway was closed for more than five hours.

There were two other crashes on the Trans Canada due to slippery conditions.
