WINNIPEG – Ice has accumulated on power lines across Manitoba after the warmer weather and freezing rain last week.
Manitoba Hydro crews are working to remove the ice on power lines and have issued a warning for power outages in the western part of the province Sunday.
According to Manitoba Hydro’s Facebook page there will be ice rolling in the Boissevain area, which may cause brief power outages. One of the ice melt outages could last up to two hours.
There will be short outages throughout the day for rolling ice in Rivers, Carberry, Wawanesa and Hartney areas, as well as the Killarney, Souris, Glenboro, Deloraine and Cartwright areas.
A Manitoba Hydro spokesperson says the outages may continue Monday.
