UPDATE: Police find truck involved in fatal hit-and-run in Abbotsford

UPDATE: On Wednesday, June 10, the Abbotsford Police Department found the suspect vehicle involved in the fatal collision of 61-year-old Ronald James Scott on Jan. 30. A grey 2013 Ford Expedition was found at a property in the 28600 block of Huntingdon Road. Investigators have also identified a person of interest with connections to the vehicle, but that person has declined to provide a statement to police.

Major Crime detectives are now asking for potential witnesses to call police with any information that could assist with the pre and/or post collision timelines.  It is likely that someone may have seen the vehicle and driver prior to the collision. Police say it is also possible that someone might have seen the vehicle after the crash or has some information about it.

Police don’t know when the accident happened, but the man’s body was discovered at around 11:20 last night near Mount Lehman Road and Simpson Road.

The victim, believed to be between 40 and 60 years old, was travelling southbound and was struck by an unknown vehicle that was travelling in the same direction. Police are still working to positively identify the victim and notify his family.

They’re also reminding cyclists to ride safely and wear reflective clothing when on dark roads.
