TORONTO – The Maple Leaf Gardens building reopened Thursday morning at 6 a.m. after it was evacuated Wednesday evening following reports of a strange odour.
Emergency crews were called to the Mattamy Athletic Centre, located at Carlton and Church streets, shortly before 8 p.m.
Firefighters evacuated the former home of the Toronto Maple Leafs and worked overnight to track down the source of the odour.
Toronto EMS said one patient was treated for shortness of breath after the suspicious odour was reported at the Maple Leaf Gardens Loblaws.
The Mattamy Athletic Centre was closed for the remainder of the evening.
