WATCH: Crown seeking to sever communication between two accused in Penticton murder

PENTICTON – The two siblings accused in the murder of Roxanne Lynn Louie are in custody at separate jails but Crown Counsel is expected to apply for a no-contact order between the pair.

Grace Elinor Robotti is charged with second-degree murder. Her brother, Pier Louis Robotti, is accused of being an accessory after the fact to murder and performing an indignity to a body.

Louie, 26, was reported missing two days after she failed to show up for a January 4th flight home to Vancouver from Penticton.

Her body was found in the bush near Naramata a week later.

Grace is the paternal great-grandmother of Louie’s three-year-old son.

Louie’s cousin, Theresa Gabriel, says the family is still trying to come to terms with the killing. “The fact that anybody can (allegedly) perform this action on a mother, especially when they share that boy, that’s very hard for the family to take in and to understand,” says Gabriel.

Gabriel says Louie was very close with the Robotti family and would often bring her son to see them when she visited Penticton.

According to a family friend, Louie and her son were spending the night with Grace when she went missing.

Global News has learned the Robottis voluntarily appeared at the Penticton RCMP detachment on January 11 where they were arrested.

The two made a brief court appearance via video link Wednesday morning.

The case was adjourned to February 2 when they will again appear by video and the application for a no-contact order will likely be made.
