With the first major winter storm expected to hit Halifax Tuesday morning, we’ll have the latest on school cancellations and road conditions and we’ll talk with the man in charge of winter works with the City of Halifax. Darrin Natolino will join us live at 6:45am to share details of how the city plans on tackling the snow and winds that will wallop our city on Tuesday.

At 7:15am we’ll talk more about Alzheimer’s awareness month with a unique campaign being used to #makememoriesmatter. Blake Smith has made a video sharing his powerful story of how Alzheimer’s has impacted his family and how he wants you to create your own video this month to make your memories with a loved one matter more.

We’ll sit down with the chair of the National Energy Board, Peter Watson at 7:45am who will give us an update on the proposed Energy East Pipeline that could see hundreds of new jobs in our region.  The $12-billion pipeline between Alberta and New Brunswick aims to connect western crude with eastern refineries and new markets across the Atlantic.

Jill Chappell may be away but Foodie Tuesday rolls on during The Morning News. At 8:15am we’ll learn more about an upcoming cooking class/demo at NSCC teaching how to cook with local ingredients. We love local and we love to cook so this one is a no-brainer!
